FiiO FH19 – 2DD+6BA Flagship IEM
The FiiO FH19 is a new hybrid in-ear monitor (IEM) set with specially designed drivers and advanced technology. They aim to rival high-end models from well-known brands such as Sennheiser and Shure. The FH19 allows users to customize sound profiles, making it a great option for audiophiles who want a personalized listening experience.
The FiiO FH19 features a semi-open design and FiiO’s cavity pressure relief technology for a natural, relaxed sound and wide soundstage. The IEMs have a titanium mid-frame and a shell made from aerospace-grade 7000 series aluminum for strength and lightness.
The FH19 has a mix of two dynamic and six balanced armature drivers inside. FiiO worked with Tokyo Onkyo Co. Ltd. in Japan to create a new dual-dynamic driver unit.
These drivers manage the bass sounds and use PU+DLC composite diaphragms set up in a reverse layout. This setup aims to improve the depth, quickness, and unity of low frequencies.
The FiiO FH19 uses special Knowles balanced armature drivers for mid-to-high frequencies. The midrange drivers create a full musical sound while keeping details clear, and the high-frequency drivers handle a wide range from 8Hz to 40kHz. These IEMs have a sensitivity of 109dB/mW at 1kHz and an impedance of 16Ω at 1kHz.
The FiiO FH19 stands out with its unique suspended voice coil design. By routing the coil leads directly from the center hole under the diaphragm, it minimizes contact and adhesive load, aiming to enhance driver performance and minimize distortion.
The FH19 features Rubycon film crossover capacitors that have a very low error tolerance of only 0.1 percent. This helps to create more precise crossover points, improving sound quality. Moreover, FiiO’s sound wave guidance system is made to deliver deeper and better bass.
FiiO included three sets of interchangeable audio filters in the FH19, each with varying levels of internal damping and mesh density. Users can adjust the audio profile to suit their preferences.
- Red Filter: Enhances bass frequencies, providing powerful and impactful bass.
- Black Filter: Offers a balanced sound with clear and transparent audio.
- Green Filter: Delivers refined and detailed treble.
The FH19 features a high-purity silver cable made up of eight strands of 28 wires each, totaling 224 wires. Each wire is individually insulated and twisted in a Litz structure. The cable sheath is crafted from transparent TPU to prevent yellowing and stiffening as time goes by.
The FH19 comes with two twist-lock swappable jack plugs to work with many audio devices: a 3.5mm single-ended and a 4.4mm balanced. It also includes 22 pairs of ear tips in different sizes and materials, such as SpinFit, foam, balanced, and dual flange options, to ensure the perfect fit for everyone.
