TOPPING is one of the largest manufacturers of HiFi desktop audio gears based in China. They have a wide range of products focusing both on entry-level and high-tier audiophiles. And now, TOPPING EX5 DAC- Headphone AMP is available, a high-performance 2-in-1 DAC – AMP. It adopts dual ES9038Q2M decoding chips, supporting MQA via USB, DSD512 Native, and PCM768KHz, with 0.00010% THD+N. It uses an NFCA circuit for the headphone amplifier, has 1300mW x 2 output power.
The EX5 also has a wide range of compatibility: Windows 10, MAC, Linux, IOS, Android can be plug and play. It is worth mentioning that EX5 uses 2nd generation 16 core XMOS XU216, USB supports MQA full decode, PCM32bit768kHz, and DSD512 native. Even in the face of higher-end ASIO applications,EX5 can do a good job: MAC drive-free, Win10 with customized Thesycon ASIO driver, PC becomes a professional HIFI source. Whether it is Apple IOS devices, Android devices, and media players, as long as it supports OTG external sound card, they can be connected to the USB input to make EX5 be their external high-performance DAC.
Topping has featured the advanced Qualcomm CSR8675 Bluetooth chip in the EX5. It provides a stable Bluetooth V5.0 connection with high-resolution LDAC/AptX HD/AptX LL/AptX/SBC/AAC wireless transmission protocols. Connect the Bluetooth of the phone, tablet, or notebook to EX5, and connect the power amplifier, active speakers, or headphones to the EX5’s output, then EX5 becomes your Bluetooth Headphone amp / Bluetooth DAC.
A powerful two-in-one device, connect your digital audio sources and headphones to EX5. It uses NFCA circuitry for optimized headphone output performance, rivals standalone desktop amps. NFCA modules result from TOPPING’s intensive research and development into headphone amplification technology, and the flagship A90 was the first amplifier from TOPPING that incorporated these modules. NFCA modules ensure low noise levels and distortion under all conditions and when used with all headphones.
EX5 has outputs of 4-PIN-XLR and a 6.35 single-ended and can drive your high impedance headphones with ease through its high-low gain settings (16dB/6dB). It also has a total harmonic distortion (THD) down to just 0.00010% and its signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is up to 125dB. EX5 will deliver up to 1300mW of power into 32 ohms and 140mW in 300 ohm loads on headphone outputs.
