FiiO Jade Audio JW1 comes with a large 14.2mm dynamic driver that produces a strong sound with powerful bass, clear midrange, and a nice, smooth treble. The Jade Audio JW1 is suitable for different scenarios, you can use it outdoors while working, or even while doing a workout. It has a waterproof and sweat-proof design.
Different from traditional TWS earbuds, the JW1 is an open, non-in-ear design with excellent comfort thanks to it not being inserted into the ear. The weight of each earbud is merely 9.5g, making wearing the JW1 feel almost like you are not actually wearing anything. The pair is designed to sit comfortably on the outer side of your ear and provide great comfort even for hours of usage.
The ear-hook design that cleverly balances forces around multiple points securely fits ears of different shapes. Even when running or participating in high-intensity sports, the JW1 securely stays on your ear.
The JW1 supports Wireless Bluetooth V5.3 connectivity. It provides a fast, smooth, stable connection with the source device. You won’t notice any lag, and the overall connection is smooth.
The JW1 re-pairs itself to the last connected device when powered on, so you don’t have to worry about manually re-pairing it. It also supports switching between single earbud unit and dual earbud unit usage modes on the fly, allowing you to use the JW1 however you like.
FiiO Jade Audio JW1 houses a large-capacity battery. The TWS lasts for up to 6 hours with a single charge. With the carry case, the total battery life can be as high as 18 hours.

Sound
The soundstage is wider compared to IEMs and you are thankful from the first moment you put them on because it affects the whole experience in a very good way. I think this comes with the design as the driver sits far from your ears compared to IEMs.
FiiO JW1 has an extremely smooth and natural sound. Its stand-out feature is a vivid and wonderfully textured mid-range that is forward without being shouty, and which puts vocals and instruments front and center. FiiO JW1’s tone makes it great-sounding, but what makes it special-sounding is its very good sense of space and imaging. A genuine out-of-head experience.
FiiO JW1’s bass is impressive considering its style, being an open earbud. You aren’t going to find the levels of bass that you might get from a well-sealed pair of IEMs, but it’s actually considerable in terms of both extension and texture. JW1 creates some genuine bass heft when called upon. It’s not head-rattling but it has a very nice reproduction of bass texture.
The mid-range is very much the star of the show here. The way the JW1 dissects the instrumental parts and places them around you is amazing. The mid-range is silky smooth with fantastic timbre quality for this budget price. The FiiO JW1 sounds definitive, transparent, and very detailed in the mid-range, giving you a very musical experience but with excellent resolution and micro details. High frequencies are well extended with great detail ability and most importantly, with great articulation. It personally got me by surprise, as I didn’t expect it to deliver this level of separation. But the treble has great energy but also great balance and smoothness. The FiiO JW1 doesn’t disappoint in this regard and provides clear, transparent, and snappy highs. These open earbuds easily dispatch the fast and busy passages without ever breaking into sibilance or harshness.
Sum-Up
JW1 is a wonderful set of TWS, Open TWS we can say, that promises quality sound, stable wireless connectivity, and also keeps us aware of our surroundings. It produces a balanced and lively tuning that complements different genres of music well. I still can’t understand how this package is for sale for only $27.99. If you can’t live without listening to music all the time, just get one, it’s a no-brainer.
