It looks like an upgraded model for their previous 20BA driver KZ ASX earphones that were released last year. KZ AST is available to purchase starting at just 138$ for the non-mic variant.
KZ has equipped the AST with 12 high-performance balanced armature drivers on each side, totaling 24 BA drivers producing a high-resolution sound experience for its users. All these drivers are the latest generation BA units providing excellent dynamics and characteristics to the output. The pair features multiple units of 30017s, 30095s, 30019s, 29689s, and 22955s balanced armature drivers.
KZ AST features a high-frequency matrix BA combination designed and developed independently to provide a smooth, non-fatiguing, and highly detailed high-frequency response.
KZ has designed the AST with a 3D-printed acoustic tube cavity for multiple BA drivers. It helps in easier placement of the drivers inside the shells and also helps in reducing distortion in the output with an acoustic tube design.
KZ AST features a professionally designed electronic crossover tuning each driver to respond to a particular frequency range. This results in ultra-low distortion in the output with a high level of detail retrieval and each driver achieving its best performance.
The earpieces in KZ AST have rich and premium looks thanks to polished five-axis CNC machined Zinc Alloy face covers. The pair is made with utmost precision and craftsmanship. KZ AST is available in three different colors, Green, Black, and Silver.
